Coldhurst & Westwood Neighbourhood Update – Bonfire Night

🎆 Bonfire Night Patrols – Coldhurst & Westwood 🎆

Neighbourhood Officers from Greater Manchester Police will be out on patrol across the Coldhurst and Westwood areas today alongside colleagues from the Oldham Council Community Safety Team.

As many residents will be celebrating Bonfire Night, we would like to remind everyone to enjoy fireworks responsibly and to be mindful of the potential risks and dangers associated with their use.

✅ Always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.
✅ Keep fireworks away from young children.
✅ Only purchase fireworks from licensed retailers.
✅ Never throw fireworks or use them in a public place.
✅ Be considerate of neighbours, pets and vulnerable residents.

We are aware that anti-social behaviour can increase during Bonfire Night, particularly where youths may be misusing fireworks or causing nuisance within the community.

📞 If you witness anti-social behaviour, the dangerous use of fireworks, or groups of youths causing concern, please report it to Greater Manchester Police via 101 or online at www.gmp.police.uk.

🚨 In an emergency, or if there is an immediate risk to life or property, always dial 999.

Let's work together to keep Coldhurst and Westwood safe and ensure everyone can enjoy Bonfire Night responsibly.
