Thursday 5th November 2026 Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) from Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) have been engaging with local primary schools, community groups and alternative provisions, delivering a range of Pol-Ed educational sessions designed to keep young people safe. The interactive and educational sessions have covered important topics to help and encourage children and young people to make safe and positive choices. The following primary schools and community groups visited throughout October to date (5/11) with a focus on hate crime awareness, bullying, people who help us, drugs awareness and bonfire safety included:
St Patricks R.C Primary School St Peters C of E Primary School St Nicholas R.C Primary School Grange Farm Primary School Kippax Greenfield Primary School Micklefield Primary School Rainbows at Green Lane Primary School Garforth Dance College Aspire and Achieve Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, PCSOs have encouraged pupils to recognise harmful behaviour, stay safe online, understand the consequences and dangers of drug misuse, and know how to report concerns or seek support from people who can help. These educational inputs form part of the Neighbourhood Policing Team's ongoing commitment to prevention, early intervention and building positive relationships with young people across our communities. In addition, on the 30th October 2026 the West Yorkshire Police Safer Travel PCSO’s attended St Peters C of E Primary School, following an invitation to join the school for an event to celebrate and raise awareness of different cultures. The Safer Travel PCSO’s were on hand to speak to young people, parents and guardians about safer travel on busses, how to keep sage and how to report any issues and concerns. By working closely with schools and partner agencies, PCSOs are helping to create safer, stronger communities and empowering young people with the knowledge they need to stay safe and look out for others. Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Teams remain committed to engaging with young people and families and will continue to attend local schools and provisions to build positive relations.
