🚨 Vehicle Crime Alert – Number Plate Thefts in Your Area 🚨

Chelsfield SNT Officers are aware of a recent increase in reports of vehicle registration plates being stolen from parked vehicles within the local area.

Stolen number plates are often used in further criminal activity, including making off without payment from fuel stations, avoiding traffic offences, or being attached to other vehicles to conceal their identity.

Today, PCSO Sandhu recovered a large quantity of discarded numbers plates near Chelsfield Lane which are believed to have been stolen.

How to Protect Your Vehicle:

✅ Fit anti-theft or tamper-proof screws to your number plates. These are available from most motor accessory retailers.

✅ Park in well-lit areas and, where possible, locations covered by CCTV.

✅ Regularly check your vehicle registration plates, especially if your vehicle has been parked for an extended period.

✅ Consider marking the rear of your number plates with your postcode or vehicle identification details.
