This afternoon, Valley Beat officers assisted our Roads Policing Unit after a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on the M1 near Castle Donington 👮 🚓
Members of the public contacted police after becoming concerned over the manner of driving, reporting that the vehicle was striking the central reservation barrier. Thanks to the information provided by members of the public, officers were able to locate the vehicle and take positive action. ✅
At custody, this male was close to being three times over the legal drink drive limit. Drink driving puts lives at risk and can have devastating consequences for drivers, passengers and other road users. If you suspect someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, please report it to us. You could help prevent a serious collision and save lives. 👍
