π BONFIRE NIGHT β STAY SAFE! π |

|
With Bonfire Night tonight, South Wales Police would like to remind everyone to enjoy the celebrations safely and responsibly.
Fireworks and bonfires can be dangerous if not handled correctly. Please keep the following safety advice in mind:
π Fireworks
Only buy fireworks from licensed retailers. Follow the instructions carefully and keep a safe distance. Never return to a firework once it has been lit. Never throw fireworks or put them in your pockets. Keep fireworks away from children and pets.
π₯ Bonfires
Keep bonfires away from buildings, fences, trees and other flammable materials. Never use petrol or other flammable liquids to start a fire. Never leave a bonfire unattended. Make sure the fire is completely extinguished once finished.
πΎ Looking after pets
Keep pets indoors where possible. Close windows and curtains to reduce noise and flashes. Ensure pets have a safe, comfortable place to settle.
π¨ Be considerate Please be mindful of elderly residents, vulnerable people, young children and those who may find fireworks distressing. Avoid setting off fireworks late at night and be considerate of your neighbours.
If you witness dangerous or antisocial behaviour, please report it to South Wales Police. In an emergency, always call 999.
Letβs work together to make Bonfire Night an enjoyable and safe occasion for everyone!
Stay safe and enjoy the celebrations! π
