Helping Rough Sleepers This Winter
Good morning, As temperatures continue to drop, many vulnerable people sleeping rough face serious risks to their health and wellbeing. Members of the public can play an important role in helping those in need. If you see someone sleeping rough, please do not assume that support services are already aware of them. You can make a referral to StreetLink, a national service that connects rough sleepers with local outreach teams. Reports can be made online at www.streetlink.org.uk or by calling 0300 500 0914. When making a report, please provide as much information as possible, including the exact location, time seen, and a description of the individual. This helps outreach workers locate and offer support to the person more quickly. If you believe someone is in immediate danger due to the cold weather, is unresponsive, or requires urgent medical assistance, please call 999. A simple report could make a significant difference and help connect someone with accommodation, support services, and potentially save a life during the winter months. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and looking out for those most vulnerable.
