One arrest was made and five vehicles seized as we continued our crackdown on people who use e-bikes and e-scooters illegally and antisocially in Surrey Heath last week.
The vehicles we seized will now be destroyed.
Sergeant Daniel Lomas, from Surrey Heath Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We know that the criminal and antisocial use of e-bikes is causing concern within our local community. This operation is about responding directly to those concerns and taking visible action against the people responsible.
"E-bikes can be used legitimately, but when they are used by criminals to commit offences, evade police or behave dangerously and antisocially, we will take action. Our message is simple: we will not tolerate crime being committed using e-bikes in our communities.
"We will continue to target those responsible, disrupt their criminal activity and, where appropriate, seize and destroy vehicles being used unlawfully"
Please continue to report dangerous and antisocial e-bike riding to us via our website. |
