Hello Resident, I hope this message finds you well. During the last week your local PCSO has conducted both foot (including local parks and canal towpaths) and vehicle patrols. Several shoplifters have been identified and statements submitted for their prosecutions. Many beggars have been moved on from outside local stores, a local tenant meeting has been visited and intelligence on local activities have been submitted.
✅ Crime Prevention Tips: · Points to note Lock doors: Always lock your car doors and close all windows, even when parked at home. Hide valuables: Take all bags, phones, and electronics with you or place them out of sight in the boot. Never leave it running: Turn off the engine and take your keys whenever you step away from the vehicle. Parking: if available, park in a well lit location such as under street lighting. Extra Security: Consider other methods of securing your vehicle, an alarm, immobiliser, steering lock or tracker To reduce the risk of burglary, consider the following: · Lower fences at the front around one-metre high are preferable to high fences as they allow for a clear view over the top and don’t provide cover for anyone wishing to hide. · At the rear and sides, taller fencing is recommended to prevent easy access. · Trellis, thorny plants, or a suitable anti-climb topping such as plastic spikes make it difficult for anyone climbing over a fence or gate. · Planting prickly or barbed shrubbery along boundaries and fence lines acts as an effective natural barrier. · Gravel driveways and paths will make sure you hear anyone approach.
