Hi Everyone, I hope you're all well and have recovered from Halloween and Bonfire Night. I also hope that any Remembrance Parades and services you attended were well supported and passed without any issues, providing an opportunity for our communities to come together and remember those who have served and sacrificed. I would like to continue offering my support with any concerns raised by residents. From my surgeries and conversations within the community, speeding and parking remain the most common issues being reported. I am happy to arrange village walkabouts with yourselves at times that best suit the community. These visits provide an opportunity for us to work together to address concerns and demonstrate a joined-up approach to tackling local issues. If there are residents who would like to attend and discuss concerns directly, they would be very welcome to join us. The speed gun initiative has been particularly helpful, as it provides evidence of speeding at specific locations and times. This enables me to request support from enforcement officers and, where appropriate, explore the possibility of deploying the Safety Camera Team to target persistent speeding issues. If there are concerns relating to anti-social behaviour (ASB), we can also arrange patrols and walkabouts during the times these issues are occurring. This gives us the opportunity to engage with those involved, listen to residents' concerns, and explore what action can be taken to prevent or reduce these problems. As the darker nights draw in and our thoughts turn towards the festive season, it is important that we continue to look out for one another and remain alert to any suspicious activity within the village. Some concerns have recently been raised regarding burglaries. Residents have reported hearing about incidents in neighbouring counties where offenders have gained access to homes during the late afternoon, teatime and early evening periods while occupants were still at home. I do not want to cause alarm, but these types of burglaries do occur, and with the darker evenings now upon us, it is important that we remain vigilant and take some simple steps to reduce the risk. Crime Prevention Advice Please remember that if you see anything suspicious or have concerns about activity in your neighbourhood, report it as soon as possible. In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, always call 999. For non-emergency concerns or to report suspicious activity, contact 101 or report online. By looking out for one another and reporting concerns promptly, we can help keep our communities safe. Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Working together, we can make a real difference in tackling the issues that matter most to residents. Take care, stay vigilant, and help keep your home and community safe. Kind regards, Tara | ||
